SMPN

A new two-story, 16,828 square-foot building in Natomas features bright, colorful interiors by Boulder Associates and a collection of contemporary art on modern substrates such as wood panel, metal, and acrylic. The SMPN building’s focus is family practice, so the artwork collection was designed to be fun, modern, and uplifting for all ages. The key piece in the first floor waiting area portrays an iconic Sacramento landmark, the Tower Bridge, on a 12’ wood board triptych by local artist Raphael Delgado, whose murals are prominent throughout the city. The piece captures the realistic aspects of the bridge with whimsical, graphic elements and a custom color palette based on prominent finish colors throughout the space.

In the second floor waiting area, a set of three limited edition prints on metal by local artist Mark Bowles feature low horizon lines and big, deeply colored skies. Bright abstract prints on canvas line unit hallways, adding pops of color to the otherwise muted corridors. In each exam room, a single botanical floats on a clear acrylic panel with black standoffs that coordinate with the predominant metal finish. The collection exemplifies Grigio’s attention to detail, collaboration with the interiors team, and ability to offer a wide range of art options.
